Finding suitable housing
Some sentences can be completed while staying at home and individuals on a community sentence may need to check with a probation officer if where they are staying is suitable.
If someone is on an electronically monitored sentence or order they have to:
- propose a suitable and stable address for where they’ll be staying
- make sure the address is accessible to the monitoring company and their probation officer.
Unsuitable living arrangements
Some places aren’t suitable to have electronic monitoring equipment, for example:
- a sleep-out
- a garage
- a caravan
- camping grounds
