4.5 Violent and sex offenders
Within the broad category of “offending against the person”, male and female inmates generally had committed different sub-types of offences. Sex offences were proportionately more common amongst males (38%) than for females (9%), whereas women had a higher rate of homicide (29% vs 15%).
